Over The Edge

The world around is changing so fast you can’t recognise yourself. You can’t even recognize the street you live on. The world becomes a scary place and it is creeping up closer to you, it is inside the body, inside the brain. The city becomes a part of your body and it is heavy, so heavy it feels like you are chained to the ground. But then your body becomes the ground, and the buildings; your arms are the cranes; swinging. Your legs become the roads and roads never end. The air is so thick it’s like breathing under water. People are walking around on the streets and they scare you because they do not know what’s going on, they are so stupid. They can’t see what you see. They can not see that they are on the edge. You think for yourself; is this real? And it is real, because you can touch it, and it feels good but in the same way it does not. It feels like velvet, black velvet. But black is the colour of the night and the night is the most unsafe place to be in. But it feels so good because you can touch it and it is real. It is real. You think you are safe because you found something that is real. But you find yourself standing too close to it. The only real thing is the edge - you are on the edge too. The other side is filled with nothing. There is nothing to touch on the other side. There is nothing to breathe and it will fill your brain with nothing. You see nothing, you hear nothing and you feel nothing. But you have to lie down, your knees are weak and you have to lie down. The ground out on the edge is made of velvet and you think it is because the edge wants you. It is calling for you. But when you lie down there is no return and you know it but you have to lie down, you just have to. And it feels good, very good. You fall asleep, because it is the first sleep in a long time and you are very tired. You start to dream and you dream of a long trip with no ending. And you don’t think it is strange because you think that life has no ending so you see it clearly and you accept it. But you regret that you did not bring any food and you realize that you will starve to death and then you wake up. And then you wake up.
